Miami Valley Regional Crime Laboratory Implements STACS DNA Software

OTTAWA, ON–STACS DNA Inc., the only DNA sample processing software provider, today announced that the Miami Valley Regional Crime Laboratory (MVRCL) has implemented STACS-CW Enterprise™ as a key part of an initiative to automate their DNA processing lab.

MVRCL’s automation goal was to reduce turnaround times and manage their backlog. STACS-CW Enterprise was chosen as the hub of their automated lab,
as it:

  • Manages all workflow, sample tracking and reporting;
  • Integrates with and tracks all instrumentation;
  • Automatically delivers sample data into their existing laboratory information management system (LIMS); and
  • Keeps a complete audit trail of their consumables.

According to Mark Squibb, Laboratory Supervisor, “STACS® software interweaves everything together. Now I can easily perform DNA analysis since it’s all automated, and all of the data is automatically compiled. This has allowed us to reduce bottlenecks associated with DNA processing, so that we can reduce other bottlenecks in the lab and reduce turnaround times even further.”
